Not much should be said about the retadin at the top of the meters: I think he was there to skill up a new weapon, to get the highest DPS he could, some tokens and Loken’s tongue. He didn’t really do all that well, despite proffering quite a lot of unasked for advice. Always something to make you popular when you are the only pugger on a guild run…

    One of our lumpier runs, partly due to your erstwhile tank trying to get his rotation smooth again (a bit rusty) and partly due to the arrogant retadin. Oh well it just means we need to look at our friends lists in future and see about asking in those we’ve run with before.

    May have to do this again. I seem to notice that there is such a thing as a crit cap. I was less impressive having eaten critfish than I was after a fish feast. Heat-of-battle sentiments though. Need to study logs.

      Aye, there’s a cap for pretty much everything, so there’s that wonderful balance dance between what you’ve built for, what you’ve stacked in enchants / gemming / talents and then what will be picked up in the group / raid environment from others (totems, buffs, food, elixirs, potions etc etc). I need to check what the effective spirit & spell power caps are and see if it’s worth me moving stats around a bit.

        I’m struggling through the EJ healadin threads to find a spell hit cap for healadins, and so far not found one.

        Logically there has to be a critical chance hit cap, since 100% crit chance would mean no normal hits.

        I think there has to be a specific build/gear/healing or hitting style optimisation.

        The current view is that for paladin tank healing in raids Holy light spamming is the way to go, and that everything is atturned to that. As much int as can be stacked, forget the spellpower.

        Healing in heroics is different – different priorities are needed. No raid/party wide haste buffs, no assumption of replenishment etc.

        After the new patch – well who knows. Not sure I want to shard some of the slightly less optimal kit, in case there is a previously unconsidered benefit.

        You can do one VoA run per day right? or is it one per raid-week? I need to have another go at that – it’s been a couple of months since I got into a pug. And I’ve not even done Emalon.

    VoA is a weekly thing, but there are the two flavours (10 & 25 man). We’ll see if we can build a PUG of some description, might prod Ted to see if we can pull a mixed tincan / EO 10 man team tonight.
